Mane makes the lion look much bigger than that, helping the animal intimidating the opponent during the confrontation with other lions and hyenas seen, which is the main competitor of animals throughout its reach. The young lion has a grayish coat, covered with chocolate marks, which then lost at the age of 3 months. However, lions in East Africa tend to retain these spots in their stomachs.

These animals can be nocturnal, active at night, or crepuscular, showing increased activity on dusk and before sunset. Lions spend most of the day (up to 20 hours) resting. These animals rest to save energy, in the absence of prey or escape from midday heat. African lions are very social animals, gather in groups or proud, which includes up to 3 male lions and many female lions with their children. Proud to be maintained by men, who patrol and mark the area.

However, there are harsh competition between men for regions and positions in pride. In the case if other men overcome the leading male from pride, it usually kills all children, which is equipped with a previous man. Meanwhile, men don't tend to hunt because of their slow speed and interesting appearance. On the contrary, the hunt was submitted to women from pride, who hunted in groups, working with each other during their hunting trips. Females are very good hunters: they are faster and more agile than men, able to hunt animals that are far bigger and faster than them.
